Tellico River Wild Brown Trout....Catch and Release!

Tellico River Fly Fishing Guide Service

We are the premiere Tellico River fly fishing guides. Our Owner and Head Guide is the only "local" to ever guide on the river, and he has well over 30 years experience fishing this watershed and its tributaries.

The Tellico River is our home water. It is the state's largest freestone trout stream, meaning that it's free flow, not dam controlled. It's a wade fishery only due to it's size and average water depths. The Tellico remains one of Tennessee's top trout streams and is a very popular tourist location. Many postcards feature the streams tumbling mountain waters as the main theme and tourists continue to travel from miles around for a photo of its main scenic attraction....Bald River Falls.

The Tellico fishes well for the fly and spin angler. It's stocked weekly through the "trout season" and many a young angler fought their first fish there. It is truly a gem and a pleasure to fish.

The Tellico has its fair share of wild and native trout, as well as stocked. Some of the wild tributaries are also available to the fly angler and boast good populations of native fish. These streams are not stocked and will test the stealth and skills of any fly fisherman. This is a dry fly haven in the mornings and evenings, with many eager, rising fish brought to hand on a typical sunny day. Assuming that you can get a good, drag free drift presented within striking distance. Sometimes easier said than done.

We are the only local outfitter and guide service in the Tellico area. We have over 30 years of experience fishing these streams and we enjoy every minute of it. We know that you will too.
